The Network Solutions® Validation Process
When it comes to SiteSafe™ SSL Certificates and ensuring that online transactions are secure, validation of the entity that manages the web site is critical. We've developed a 4-step process to validate your organization to ensure your certificate is properly issued:
Step 1: We verify you are the registrant of the domain name used in your application by verifying the information in the WHOIS database.
Steps 2 & 3: We cross-reference 2 of the following 3rd party references including: Dun and Bradstreet number, Articles of Incorporation, Business License, Tax ID, etc. Required credentials for steps 2 and 3 may vary depending on country, and if the applicant is not incorporated. The Network Solutions' validation team will contact you if additional information is required to complete the validation process.
Step 4: We contact your organization via a 3rd party reference to verify that the SiteSafe™ SSL Certificate applicant is employed with your organization.
You will be e-mailed an order number and instructions on which documentation is needed when your order has been successfully processed. Upon receipt of all applicable documentation, your SiteSafe™ SSL Certificate is issued within 1 business day with the purchase of SiteSafe™ SSL Pro or Wildcard certificate, and 2-4 business days with the purchase of the SiteSafe™ SSL Basic or SiteSafe™ Site Confirm Seal.

Guarantees – SiteSafeTM SSL Certificates and Site Confirm Seal
All Network Solutions® SiteSafe™ services include a limited Guarantee to provide your Web site visitors with assurance that your site is a safe place to transact online business. This guarantee is payable to your Web site visitors, relying on your SiteSafe services, who incur losses resulting directly from an online credit card transaction as a result of a mis-issued SiteSafe SSL Certificate or Site Confirm Seal. This guarantee is limited to $1,000 per transaction, and the aggregate guarantee amount per security service is based on the following:
- SiteSafe SSL Certificates - Pro, Wildcard and Extended Validation – aggregate guarantee amount is $1,000,000
- SiteSafe SSL Certificates - Basic – and the SiteSafe Site Confirm Seal aggregate guarantee amount is $50,000
